About London Kentucky

London is a friendly smaller town located right on the I-75 Corridor between exits 38 & 41. We are conveniently located about a hour South of Lexington KY and about 1.5 Hours North of Knoxville TN. We have several lakes in the area offering excellent fishing, boating, camping and more. Laurel Lake is most popular to campers, jet skiers, and house boaters offering 2 marinas and campgrounds. Holly Bay Marina is on the London end near the spillway (beach area) to the locals. Grove Marina is about 10 miles South of London in Corbin Ky. London also has a Residential Lake Wood Creek Lake on the North end of town. It offers quite residential living and excellent fishing. This lake holds the state record for Large Mouth Bass since 1984 coming in at over 13 lbs. London also has the Rockcastle River nearby offering kayaking. Lake Cumberland runs through the area and most of the state offering boating and fishing as well.

London offers great employment opportunities for the area with many factories, bakeries, Wal-Mart Distribution Center and a host of telemarketing centers.

London host many festivals the most popular being the World Chicken Festival held the 3rd week of September each year Thursday through Sunday. This event brings several thousand people to the area for concerts, food, flea marketing and more. London also host a bicycling event The Red Bud Ride every spring which has proved to be very successful in the area. Harley Davidson located here a few years ago and host many events in the area for the motorcycle enthusiast. A very popular state park here is Levi Jackson State Park offering picnicking, camping and swimming pool and museum. The Old Mill is located in the park and is part of the London heritage. Levi Jackson State Park also host the Laurel County Homecoming in August with a local Beauty Pageant and Talent Show. The park host many events for campers including the most popular Camp Spook held the week before Halloween. London has become a great place to live and raise a family offering top notch schools and a friendly environment. London has several great restaurants offering great American food, Mexican, and Italian. If you’re not sold on the area yet one of the greatest things we have here is No Bumper to Bumper traffic. London is a smaller town however we do have a Bypass that makes it easy to be almost anywhere in the county within 15 minutes. Truly a plus for most. Hope you enjoy the area as much as I do.
